All CanSkate Families: Important Information for you!


Hello and welcome to all of our new and returning CanSkate families! We hope that you will have a very enjoyable season with us and we are looking forward to seeing you all at the rink each week. We have a few reminders for everyone below, please take note, and if you have any questions or comments please know that you are encouraged to talk to us! Email us, call us, stop by the office or find one of our board members or coaches around the rink, any time.

Dressing Rooms

Please use the assigned dressing rooms for changing before and after the session. CanSkate is normally assigned dressing rooms 4 & 8, those are the two rooms in the first wing heading out to rink B, where we skate. If you check the TV screens in the front lobby (by the Pro Shop) the dressing room assignments are posted to the screen daily. If there are ever any changes you’ll know right away, if you take a quick glance at the TV on your way in. The dressing rooms are spacious and well lit and if you use them to get your skaters ready it will really help to cut down on the congestion in the lobby between sessions.

Players Boxes

For safety reasons, we ask that all parents stay out of the players boxes unless you are assisting your skater on or off of the ice. You are welcome to watch from the glass at the rink level, from the viewing area in the lobby outside of the rink, or from the upper level seating area. It is important that we keep the pathways clear to exits from the ice in case of emergency and in order to prevent any accidents or injuries, all of the rink doors must be closed once all of the skaters are on the ice surface.

Parent Information Meeting

Next week is week 3 of the Winter session, this will be the last week for any prorated refunds. During the 3rd week of each session we like to hold a brief information session for parents. This information session provides an overview of the club, covers how the CanSkate program works, and shares information about our end of season ice show. Also, this is a chance for you to ask any questions or voice any concerns that you may have. A board member will be in the lobby to talk to parents on Monday, January 16th and Thursday January 19th, 2017, shortly after the session starts. In the event that you are not able to be present, we will be emailing some information out in the form of a newsletter.
